About imediawerks: Technology

At imediawerks we enjoy adopting new technologies and incorporating those technologies into the work we do for clients. Whether the work be electronic or printed leveraging the right technology to deliver a solution is key to the success of each project.

Web Design & Development

Many of the initial sites we designed and developed for clients were simple HTML/ASP based sites that integrated Javascript for special functionality like drop down menus and dynamic contact us pages. Over the past few years we have evolved to incorporate technologies such as CSS/XML/Flash/XHTML/XSL/mySQL/PHP/ASP.NET into our web site development. These technologies have helped us produce web sites that are easier to evolve as our clients business needs evolve.

Print

At imediawerks we develop a host of different printed solutions for clients. We primarily use Adobe and Microsoft prodcuts to develop custom print solutions for our clients. Graphics are developed and fine tuned using Adobe Photoshop. Printer ready stationary, newsletters, brochures, posters, books, catalogs and business cards are designed and created in Adobe InDesign. We have an indepth understanding of Microsoft's Office Suite, as such we have developed custom stationary templates and style guides for clients to be used in Microsoft's Word and PowerPoint products.

Identity

To create many of the logos developed for clients we use Adobe Illustrator and/or Macromedia's Freehand to create vector based graphics. Vector-oriented images are more flexible than bitmaps because they can be resized and stretched. In addition, images stored as vectors look better on devices (monitors and printers) with higher resolution, whereas bit-mapped images always appear the same regardless of a device's resolution. Another advantage of vector graphics is that representations of images often require less memory than bit-mapped images do.
